Dr. Alka V. Cohen
graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in
1981. She was awarded the U.S. Army Health Profession Scholarship
during dental school; consequently she served in the U.S. Army at
Fort Sill, Oklahoma as a dental officer from 1981 - 1985.
Dr. Cohen received advanced training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and graduated with M.S. degree in Pediatric Dentistry. She has been practicing Pediatric Dentistry in Memphis since then.
Dr. Alka Cohen also holds a faculty position as Associate Professor with the University of Tennessee, department of Pediatric Dentistry since 1987. She has continued her military career by committing herself in the U.S. Army Reserves and holds the rank of Colonel.
Dr. Cohen has
participated in missions providing dental health care to children
all over the world, including Panama, Argentina, Paraguay and Germany.
Dr. Alka Cohen is married to Dr. James Cohen, who practices general
dentistry and has three children, Amit, Raina and Ajay.
